Making the most of your home improvement dollars – roof, windows, siding

According to Remodeling Magazine (www.remodeling.hw.net), you are less likely to recoup investment in a major kitchen or bath renovation than you are on basic home maintenance such as new siding.  Siding replacement recouped 92.8 percent of its cost, according to the magazine.  Replacing roofs and windows also offer a high return on investment, returning 80 percent or more at resale.  Buyers would rather live with a slightly outdated kitchen or bathroom than face a roof or siding replacement, so these improvements are a good bet if you are considering selling.
